Denver Excise and Licenses is now accepting applications for Cannabis Consumption Establishments.
Application requirements, processes, and necessary fees and forms are available on the city’s Cannabis Consumption Licenses webpage.
Applications are accepted Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Department of Excise and Licenses on the second floor of the Webb Building, 201 W. Colfax Ave.
In November 2016 Denver voters approved Initiative 300, granting businesses the ability to apply for a license to allow for adult marijuana consumption in designated areas. Excise and Licenses has adopted final rules and regulations that govern the issuance and enforcement of the city’s new Cannabis Consumption Establishment and Cannabis Consumption Special Event licenses.
“Since final adoption of the rules, our team has been diligently working on the technology, applications and business processes for these new licenses,” said Ashley Kilroy, Executive Director of Denver Excise and Licenses. “We are glad to have these up and running and look forward to hearing from interested businesses.”
The department intends to begin accepting applications for Cannabis Consumption Special Events in September.
