I received the following action alert from Americans for Safe Access:
At this very moment, Congress is considering legislation that impacts access to medical cannabis. As part of the federal budget, Congress is deciding on whether or not to include protections for the millions of legal medical cannabis patients that have been in place since 2015.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions would like nothing more than having these important protections go away, and beginning a new era of raids and fear in the medical cannabis community.
We need all the resources we can muster to make sure your voices and your stories are heard by the Members of Congress that are meeting this week. Every day, we send staff to Capitol Hill to meet with legislators and their staff, urging them to think of the patients that will be affected if the Rohrabacher-Blumenauer Amendment is not included in this year’s Appropriations package.
To do this, we need support from members like you. Without your help, we may not be able to get this important work done — leaving patients throughout the country vulnerable and unprotected from whatever Attorney General Sessions wants to do.
Please help us continue to be the most effective voice for medical cannabis patients on Capitol Hill, and contribute today.
Thank you for all that you do for patient access!
