I received the following action alert. If you life in North Dakota, stand up and be heard:
When 64% of North Dakota voters approved Measure 5 in November 2016, patients in the state were thrilled that they would finally be able to access their medicine. Unfortunately, lawmakers have proposed to alter the program beyond recognition. Urge your lawmakers to vote NO on SB 2344, and keep Measure 5 intact!
If passed, SB 2344 would prohibit all forms of medical cannabis other than liquids and pills, including whole plant cannabis. SB 2344 would also eliminate the already very restrictive home cultivation provision for patients living more than 40 miles from a dispensary. The bill would drastically raise costs, making the program out of reach for many. It undermines the will of the voters, substituting the judgment of lawmakers for that of their constituents.
We cannot let SB 2344 pass! Please write to your state lawmakers, and urge them to stop this assault on democracy and the seriously ill. It is time to put patients first and stand up for a compassionate medical marijuana program! Please forward this message far and wide so we can get as many North Dakotans as possible urging lawmakers to vote “NO” on SB 2344.
