It’s Christmas season, and for me, that means looking for unique cannabis-related gifts for friends and family. As I was browsing the internet, I came across an item that I have not seen on sale before, at least not via the retailer that I found it through. For the record, I do not shop at Walmart. I have in the past, but after learning more about their company, I have made a conscious decision to no longer do so.
With that being said, I saw something pop up from the store very prominently via a search for ‘cannabis Christmas gifts.’ Apparently, Walmart sells an artificial marijuana leaf Christmas tree, as seen in the screenshot below:
I obviously added the red oval for emphasis. The ‘weed marijuana leaf Christmas tree’ is described by Walmart as follows:
The original Weed Christmas Tree™
This Pot Leaf Christmas tree will “light up” the room and put your mind in the right head-space for holiday cheer. You’ll be able to relax and giggle at the marijuana leavesand decorate it as you please. This alternative Christmas tree is perfect for personal top shelf life at home or as a medical dispensary decoration. Green Wishes and Happy Holidhaze!
Ornaments and bow not included
Approximately 7′ tall
I conduct my cannabis Christmas gift search each year and have never seen this product on sale at Walmart before. That’s not to say that it hasn’t been on sale before via Walmart, but there doesn’t appear to be any articles talking about it in previous years. Thre are also zero reviews of the product. If that is truly the case, I would imagine Walmart is just trying to cash in this year on the cannabis movement like many other retailers.
Walmart selling the ‘weed marijuana leaf Christmas tree’ is somewhat surprising, but is just another example of cannabis going mainstream. Walmart also sells marijuana leaf cookie cutters which, while not specifically geared towards Christmas, can certainly be used to make Christmas cookies (cannabis infusion optional!). This article is in no way an endorsement of Walmart or it’s products, especially considering that the ‘weed marijuana leaf Christmas tree’ costs $249.99, which is more than the cost of three ounces of actual cannabis at some dispensaries in Oregon. But I thought it was noteworthy enough to point out. Below are more pictures of the Walmart ‘weed marijuana leaf Christmas tree’:
