I received this legislative alert out of Vermont today
Today, our allies in the Senate sent the House a strong message in support of marijuana legalization. The Senate voted 21-9 to amend a House bill, H. 167, to attach the language of a comprehensive marijuana legalization bill and passed it in a voice vote. After receiving one more Senate vote, likely next week, H. 167 will return to the House for consideration.
The Senate’s amendment would include both limited home cultivation and a taxed and regulated market with an unlimited number of small-scale cultivation licenses (up to 500 square feet). Please email your representatives today and urge them to support ending marijuana prohibition!
It’s very important that representatives continue to hear from you and other supporters of legalization. The House Judiciary Committee has already passed a legalization bill, H. 170, in an 8-3 vote, but it has not been brought to a vote on the House floor. After you email your elected officials and urge them to take action in support of legalization, please forward this message to your friends and family — or post this link to social media — and encourage them to do the same!
