The war on drugs was started by ignorance and misinformation from people like Henry Anslinger and every other law enforcement officer afraid of stopping real crime. It has since dwindled, deteriorated, been chewed up and spit out by people obsessed with sharing the truth out of their pocket, opposed to the prohibitionistic side that funds things like S.M.A.R.T approach and only research looking for the negative qualities of cannabis. People like my friend Mac Doc Codispoti.
I met Mac once at a legal fee fundraiser for a couple facing prosecution for being extraction specialists. Mac believed no one should go to jail for a plant and to fight prohibition by overgrowing the world.
Online Mac and I were great friends. We would have random days of inspirational back and forths where I would say things like “Marijuana is Safer Than Most things in your Fridge,” and it would be a stencil image available for the world to share in minutes. One of my favorites we did was “I Don’t Get High On THC, I Get Balanced,” He came up with the idea to make it look like it was on a balance scale.
Mac wanted to give away as much as he could so others could share the Safer message; he was inspired by Jared Allaway’s giving away Safer Shirts to create Safer Stencils.
Safer Stencils was an out of pocket expense; there was no business but the business of ending prohibition. With a stencil maker and materials, Mac changed the world for good. Donations were always accepted, and if you made an order which merely paid itself, he would get it to you in an orderly manner.
Mac Doc, like so many other people, is the reason prohibition is ending, unsung heroes so others can make millions. He left this earth on June 9th. If you enjoy cannabis, if you enjoy the freedom to light one, then, please light one up for Mac and help continue spreading the SAFER word.
