Connecticut is ripe for cannabis legalization. Members of Connecticut’s Legislature support legalization, polling shows overwhelming support for legalization among Connecticut voters, and a very strong coalition is pushing for legalization on the ground. A gubernatorial debate event is being held tonight in Connecticut. I encourage you to attend if you are in the area! Below is more information, via the event’s Facebook listing:
The goal of the debate is to have an open and honest conversation about drug policy in Connecticut and to encourage candidates and exploratory candidates to weigh in on legalization, the economy, criminal justice reform, job growth, hemp production, the current medical marijuana program, and more.
The following potential candidates are confirmed: Dan Drew (D), Jonathan A. Harris (D Exploratory Candidate), Prasad Srinivasan (R), and Micah Welintukonis (U). There is an open invitation to all potential candidates to attend and participate.
Members of the media, students, advocates and the public are all invited to attend. The event will be livestreamed on the Connecticut NORML Facebook page. Updates on the debate can be found on the Facebook Event page and follow the twitter account.
Members of the public are encouraged to submit questions for the candidates on the Facebook page.
Seating is on a first come, first served basis and space is limited.
