I received the following alert yesterday for a Connecticut advocacy training webinar that will occur today, Wednesday September 6th, at 1 P.M.:
Wednesday, September 6 — from 1-2 p.m., Regulate Connecticut and Connecticut NORML will host our first-ever live webinar and lobby training!
Check it out here tomorrow at 1 p.m.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from our lead lobbyist and experts (including me) about efforts to legalize, regulate, and tax marijuana in Connecticut. Topics will include a legislative update, tips on how to lobby effectively, key arguments for regulating marijuana like alcohol, and how to respond to concerns. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
If you can’t tune in on Wednesday, the webinar will be available online after, along with other helpful information.
Meanwhile, please schedule a meeting with your state senator and representative. Right now, lawmakers are spending a lot of time in their districts, which makes it easier for you to meet with them. This webinar will give you all the tools you need for a successful meeting. Find your lawmakers here. Then, visit their website to find contact information for their district office near you.
The time has come for Connecticut to end the failed prohibition of marijuana, but lawmakers are cautious. They need to hear from their constituents who care about the issue. Please tune in tomorrow, schedule meetings with your lawmakers, and help build our movement. And, tell your friends and neighbors in Connecticut about this great advocacy opportunity!
