This page is dedicated to helping newbie marijuana activists (or even long time activists) find other like minded people and organizations to team up with to help end prohibition. There is nothing wrong with being a solo activist. The main thing is that you are doing your part. However, there is power in numbers, so if you are looking to join the ranks, below are some organizations that we support. If you are from an organization that would like to be added to the list, contact Johnny Green at ThatJohnnyGreen@gmail.com:
National Organization for Reforming Marijuana Laws – NORML is the oldest marijuana advocacy organization in America, and fights for the rights of marijuana consumers everywhere. You can find a local chapter to get active with at this link here. Co-founders of this blog are proud members of the Portland NORML chapter.
Students for Sensible Drug Policy – SSDP is the springboard for future marijuana activism and industry leaders. If you are a college student, you can find a SSDP chapter on your campus at this link here, or if there isn’t one, you can find out information about starting a chapter at this link here.
Law Enforcement Against Prohibition – LEAP has a unique, powerful voice, as it is an organization comprised of current and former members of law enforcement. If you are a current member of law enforcement, or are retired, and want to speak out about how you have witnessed the War on Drugs fail firsthand, you can find out more about the organization at this link here.
Marijuana Majority - Marijuana Majority exists to help more people understand the simple fact that supporting commonsense solutions like regulating marijuana sales and ending marijuana arrests are mainstream positions and that there’s no reason those who support reform should be afraid to say so. It’s a truly fantastic activism platform that you should share with everyone that you know.
National Cannabis Industry Association - NCIA is the only national trade association advancing the interests of the legitimate and responsible marijuana industry. NCIA is leading the unified and coordinated campaign to ensure that the emerging sector is treated fairly under federal law. You can find out how to join at this link here.
